Mackay Cycling Club - Corry Shield

Thanks to everyone who took part in the Corry Family Shield Handicap today. 44km over Wollingford Loops course. Great to see John Corry in attendance, who first road with the Club in 1952.

The Corry Family Shield race was established in 2010 in recognition of the support the Corry Family have provided to the Mackay Cycle Club and the direct contribution of John, Len, Evan, Ryan & family members over the last 40 years has been instrumental to the survival and growth of the Mackay Cycle Club and cycling in general in Mackay.

The Wollingford Loops course is great for a handicap race with a mix of fast rolling roads along Mackay-Eungella Rd, a few technical corners and a short hill which also doubles as the race finish line on the third ascent.

The race came together on the last hill to the finish line making for some close, exciting, and hard racing for all.
